Laid Back Game Day

Laid Back Game Day

I am always so excited the week of a home football game.  I just love the feeling of being in the stadium, so close to all the action on the field.  You only have 4 years in the student section with everyone who shares the same obsession and I make the most of it!  I've never left a game without losing my voice from cheering our team on and shouting the chants after a first down or when we score a touchdown.  This weekend is one of those weekends and I clearly couldn't be more thrilled judging by the theme of the posts this week!

I like to plan my outfits out in advance especially because some of the games are white out or orange effect so I like to have a general idea of what I plan to wear for the next few games coming up.  Some games I like to dress up but others I just want to be comfy and have a laid back look while still wearing something spirited.  A jersey with jean shorts may be simple but its so easy to wear and I think its still cute!  I wore cowboy boots with it but you could also pair it with converse or even just flip flops because its been so warm lately.   In cooler months, pairing it with leggings or jeans works too for the same look!

It's Game Day Baby

It's Game Day Baby

I have always loved the Fall, a close second behind Summer, but so many aspects of it make me so excited for it to come each year.  I made a plan with one of my friends to do something Fall-esque once a week!  Sometimes it's hard during the school year to find time, but we are determined!  I love the colorful leaves, PSLs (of course), comfy leggings, cozy scarfs, oh and FOOTBALL!!  I love getting ready for the home games with my roommates and friends before heading out to bounce around all the tailgates.  After playing at Bristol this weekend, I'm so excited to cheer on our boys this season here in Blacksburg.  After all, we're 1 for 1 at home so far!

Because sometimes deciding on an outfit can be difficult (especially if you're deciding the day of: been there, done that!), I've put together some of the outfits I am planning to wear this season over the next few posts!

This one is more of a dressier look, one I plan to wear on the weekend of my birthday.  But I really love the scalloped edges and the suede texture- a perfect Fall detail!  The shoes are great too, a little heel but still so comfortable to walk all over in.  Because we walk from my apartment to the street with all the tailgates over a mile away and then tot he stadium, I NEED shoes that will work with me!

Boho LWD

Boho LWD

Happy happy Hump Day!!

The beginning of this week has been super crazy, I have the majority of my classes Mon-Wed plus I teach an academic class Tues & Thurs and a fitness class for VT Fitness Tuesday evenings (insert cringing smiley face).  Usually after Tuesday night things start to wind down, at least enough for me to find time to post this!

I wore this Free People dress this weekend to an outdoor event.  Really this dress could be worn to anything, it's the right amount of casual with a little bit of a dressy feel to it.  Seriously you need this dress, you'll want to wear it everywhere. To add to the more laid-back boho theme, I wore a gray lace halter bralette underneath.  And are you tired of seeing these booties yet?  I hope not!  They're the perfect transition shoe that, like the dress, can be worn anywhere!  I could see myself wearing this outfit for a night out as well and am actually planning to wear it to my sorority boho photoshoot I just found out about happening this weekend (aka expect to see a variation of this outfit very soon!)  Hey, anything worth doing is worth overdoing, amiright?!

One of my roomates! Isn't she the cutest?  Love love love her

Tropical Vibes

Tropical Vibes

So I'm officially all moved back in to school and finished with my first week of classes!  It was a crazy and busy week getting used to my schedule.  I am teaching a barre class here through Virginia Tech Fitness and I couldn't be more pumped.  I only took my first barre class this summer at Pure Barre but instantly loved it and decided to teach a class in addition to Pilates classes I began teaching last semester.  Now I'm trying to work out a time I can spend blogging so you can expect when to see a post!

Writing this post now at school makes me already miss summer.  This was the last stop on our Florida vacation.  We drove the coast along the 30 A highway up to Destin and wow was it beautiful.  The gorgeous sparkling white sand beaches and the watercolor oceans makes the beaches in the panhandle one of the top beaches I've ever seen.  We stayed in the Sandestin resort that was a city in itself.  We ate at the marketplace where there was outdoor dining accompanied by live music (there was a really good funk-country band there that night called The Wide Open) and fireworks because it was the week of July 4th.  There were several restaurants and shops along a boardwalk which made it an easy place to drive to and spend the evening.  Being the city I was born in, it was nice to go back and see the area again.

Most evenings we were casually dressed, but we wanted to go somewhere a little fancier as the last night we were there.  I purchased this tropical dress at a boutique in Seaside a few days before and it just seemed like the perfect print to wear there in paradise.  Because the dress didn't have any color, I paired it with a hot pink side bag that coincidentally coordinated perfectly with my sister :)  Also, how cute are these booties?  For under $50, they are a STEAL.  They have so many features on trend this fall like peep toe, cutouts, and tie-ups.  I hope you all love them too because I'm seriously tempted to wear them with every outfit!

I hope everyone had a refreshing weekend and is enjoying the last taste of summer!

Off The Shoulder Dress

Off The Shoulder Dress

DRESS: Chicwish // WEDGES: Old Navy similar here // WATCH: Charming Charlie // NECKLACE: Old Navy

Are you in love with Alys Beach yet?!  Everything is just so crisp, bright, and well kept up.  These pictures were taken just across the street from yesterday's post, so right on the beach but with such an elegant feel.  Again, if you've never been, please go! Each town around this part of 30A is just amazing and each seems to have a different theme from Alys to Rosemary to Seaside and Watercolor!
For the outfit, I wanted something breezy and semi-formal.  It was a perfect sunny day which made a few of the pictures as little bright.  But this dress was perfect for the day, light and breezy.  Also how cute are these wedges?  I like the look of the medium heel so I could walk comfortably around the town.  Just a light and bright look that you can really wear at any beach or resort!

Hope everyone had a fab week and is excited for the weekend!  I'll be packing and getting ready to head back to school so wish me luck...

Thanks for stopping by!!

Dreamy Blues + Life Updates!

Dreamy Blues + Life Updates

TOP: Lilly Pulitzer similar here // SHORTS: J. Crew Factory (less than 20!!) // SHOES: Jack Rogers // HAT: Target

Well hey there! It's been a while.  I had surgery last month and had a much longer recovery time than expected.  And since I've recovered, all I seem to have been doing is working!  I leave now in less than a week to go back to school and I couldn't be more excited!  I have a few looks saved from my trip to Florida that I'll be posting coming up as well as a few fun shoots I was able to take with some friends :).  I hope to be more consistent with posts now that my life is coming back together!

Anyways... This was another outfit I wore for a day in Rosemary Beach.  The actual town these pictures are in is Alys Beach.  This town is seriously a dream.  All of the buildings are a pristine white with little pops of dark brown wooden accents or red umbrellas outside of a coffee shop!  Each building is different but they all have a Greek architecture style to them that brings everything together.  It really feels like you're driving along the Greek coastline!  I wore a Lilly tunic that had all different hues of blues and greens that happened to match the water perfectly!  I seriously love this place and I recommend visiting this area if you're looking for an elegant and beautiful beach vacation!!

Thanks for stopping by!

How gorgeous is this town?  I've loved coming here for years because of the elegance and cohesiveness the town has.  I love the looks of the white crisp buildings with dark contrasting wood doors and garages.  This boardwalk running under the tree canopy made me feel as I was in a dream!  I took my high school senior pictures here 3 years ago so it was fun coming back for another photoshoot!

This outfit was perfect for the streets of Rosemary beach.  I wanted to wear something that could be worn for walking around such a charming town and something that could be worn by the beach.  Again with the Florida heat, these loose shorts were perfect to spend the day in.  Secret though... I got them from the kids section at Old Navy!  Their larger sizes are equivalent to their women's' XS or even S.  Plus they were even cheaper because they were from the kids section!  The tank and sandals are also from Old Navy but from the big girls section ;)
